LaGrange County Regional Utility District

Disconnect/Reconnect

DISCONNECTING

If you are disconnecting a structure from the District's system you will need to do the following things.

Contact the District Office to inform us of your intent and to obtain an inspection permit.

Call before you dig.  Dial 811 and they will contact all the appropriate utilities to mark their lines.

You will need to contact the Administrative Office, at least twenty four (24) hours in advance, to schedule an inspection of the disconnect.  You can do that by calling 260-499-6349.

The District Operations staff will need to inspect the disconnection to ensure that the line has been properly cut and capped.  This needs to be done to ensure that dirt, grit, and other debris does not get into the District's system.  District staff will need to complete a disconnect inspection for your property.  Click here to see an example of this form.   If it is your intention to have the property removed completely from billing you must contact the District Administrative office at 260-499-6349 for details of that process that will include an inspection, notarized & recorded documentation and Board approval.  You would do this only if you do not have any future plans to restore service to the property.

RECONNECTING
